Vintage Kewpie Bootleg - Soft vinyl figure (USA)

Kewpie was created in the early 20th century by illustrator Rose O’Neill. Her small, baby-like characters became incredibly popular very quickly. In Japan, Kewpie gained enormous popularity and also became the mascot of the well-known Japanese mayonnaise brand Kewpie. Since then, countless versions, designs, and collaborations have been created, making Kewpie a true icon among collectors.

This vintage bootleg figure (soft vinyl) was found in the USA and is part of a small batch of Kewpie figures intended as gifts for the famous baby showers, celebrations held before a baby is born.
