Vintage Barcelona Metro pin – “9 Barris ¡Ya!”

Rare and highly unusual commemorative and activist pin linked to the historic neighbourhood movements of Nou Barris, Barcelona, during the 70s and 80s.

Featuring the slogan “9 Barris ¡Ya!”, combined with the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport logo and the silhouette of a Barcelona Metro train, this pin represents the struggle of local residents to demand better public transport and an underground connection for the northern neighbourhoods of the city, which were historically isolated from the city centre.

Extremely rare and historically significant. Despite extensive searching, we have been unable to find another example of this pin, making it a particularly special piece for collectors of Barcelona memorabilia, urban history, public transport, vintage badges and social movement memorabilia.

A unique opportunity to own a tangible piece of the history of Barcelona’s neighbourhood struggles.
